Chucky
I really felt like crap!
My name is Chucky, and as a 2-year-old cat, I should be in the prime of my life! Yet something was clearly wrong. I couldn't eat, and I kept throwing up! I was what the kids call a "hot mess."
When I went to the vet, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disorder that causes a decreased number of blood platelets. The vet estimated I would have a 50% chance of survival. That did not sound good. My nose, gums, and paws had lost all their color and turned a pale white. Things were serious.
But Mom did not give up on me! I got a blood transfusion, steroids, IV fluids, pain medication, and a complete blood work panel totaling $2,500. However, the vet still said I needed even more treatment, which would be an additional cost of $4,000. Thankfully, Karma Rescue was able to help with money and gave Mom resources to help her fundraise for the rest of my treatment.
Today, I am feeling much better! I am still doing my monthly follow-ups at the vet and need more blood work, but soon, I'll be off all my medication and living my best life. Thanks to Karma Rescue, I am one lucky kitty.
